In the movie-biz satire "SIMONE", Al Pacino plays a director who casts a computer-generated virtual-actress to play the lead in his new film.
New Line are hoping that audiences will believe that the actress playing "S1MONE", is in reality a "digital star". However, "S1MONE" is played by Canadian model Rachel Roberts, featured in 'Sports Illustrated's 2000 Swimsuit' issue.
Writer/director Andrew Niccol says that New Line has "slapped me with a sort of a gag order about it". Niccol, writer of the 'The Truman Show' screenplay, says that in regards to the film's marketing campaign, he's "keeping a sense of humor about it."
